Our Story

About the Brand

Nour means "light" in Arabic.

To Nour, light is more than a name. It represents the feeling of having something that is truly your own—the feeling of being seen, understood, and able to express a part of yourself without saying a word.

That feeling is at the foundation of NOUR.

NOUR is built on the belief that clothing can hold meaning. A piece can become part of a memory, mark an important chapter, or simply remind someone of who they are. That is why Nour does not create simply to follow what is happening around us. Every design begins with a purpose, a feeling, or a story.

Materials are chosen for how they feel as much as how they look, and each piece is given the time it needs to be made with intention and care. Nour believes in creating less, but creating with meaning.

At its heart, NOUR is about creating pieces that become part of your story.

About the Designer

Meet Nour

I'm Nour.

I moved to the United States from Lebanon when I was seventeen, carrying with me a love for fashion and a dream I wasn't entirely sure how to pursue. I didn't know how to sew or draw at the time. I only knew that fabric, color, and the process of creating gave me a sense of freedom. It was a way to express myself.

That feeling led me to study Fashion Design at Drexel University, where I began turning that interest into a craft. During my studies, I also had the opportunity to spend a summer at the London College of Fashion, a school I had dreamed of attending since I was a child.

My education extended beyond the classroom. I returned to Lebanon for an internship with Tony Ward, an internationally recognized Lebanese fashion designer, where I gained experience in the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind couture. I later continued developing my skills in Pennsylvania, working alongside a local fashion designer in Bethlehem. Each experience gave me a different perspective on design, construction, and what it takes to bring an idea to life.

During my senior year, I created a collection inspired by Lebanon, a tribute to my roots and the country that continues to shape my perspective. Around the same time, I was preparing for my sister's wedding, creating my own maid-of-honor dress, my sister's bridesmaid dress, and my mother's mother-of-the-bride dress.

Sharing glimpses of that process brought my work to a wider audience and opened conversations about custom design. What I had envisioned as a gradual journey toward building something of my own began taking shape sooner than I had expected.

That vision became NOUR.

Today, from my studio in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I am involved in every part of the brand, from the first sketch and fabric selection to construction, fittings, and the conversations I share with my clients. Every piece reflects the thought, time, and care that go into bringing it to life.

Building NOUR has been one of the most personal journeys of my life. My dad has always encouraged me to spread my wings and fly. In many ways, NOUR is my way of doing just that: taking something I've loved for as long as I can remember, believing in what I can make of it, and finding the courage to make it my own.
